International Student Program

Brooklake Christian School accepts a limited number of international students during the school year.

BCS is a selective admissions school looking for students whose lives, achievements, and goals best exemplify the mission of BCS. Families and/or their agency representative are responsible for the following:

• compliance with Bureau of Immigration and Custom Enforcement, as well as subsequent communication and follow–up
• obtaining the proper tourist or visitor visa prior to classroom attendance. BCS accepts B1, B2, F2, J2 and M2 visas. (Brooklake Christian School is not I-20 certified)
• any and all required travel arrangements
• arranging for home stay – Students must live with an English speaking home stay family as BCS does not permit students to live on their own
• finding a doctor in Federal Way that shall be available in case of emergencies

Admissions Process

Step 1
Submit an International Student Application for Admission. An application is available from the school office or on this website. A non-refundable application fee must accompany the application. All questions must be answered completely.

Step 2
English proficiency is required. One of the following must be submitted with the admissions application:

Pictorial & Cassette Tape
Please provide a sample of 5-6 photographs of the applicant. A cassette tape of the applicant speaking in English for 3-4 minutes is also required in order to assess the applicant’s English proficiency. Applicant must demonstrate a level of English proficiency commensurate with their academic level of education.

Video Presentation
Submit a video segment of 3-4 minutes in length in which the applicant is speaking in English in order to assess the applicant’s English proficiency. The applicant may tell us about themselves, their family, any special interests, or activities. Applicant must demonstrate a level of English proficiency commensurate with their academic level of education.

Step 3
Return the completed application form, the required fees, and all required documentation noted above to:
