Our major concern when dealing with a discipline problem with a student is to foster growth and positive change in that student. Biblical discipline focuses on love as the motivation for discipline. Proverbs 3:12 states, “because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” We believe love must be evident in discipline if a child is going to grow positively from the correction and consequence. The student needs to know he/she is greatly cared about but the behavior is not permissible; there is forgiveness, yet consequences still must be enforced to be fair and consistent. A great parallel to this is the life and death of Christ. We are deeply loved despite our sin and forgiven when we repent, asking for God’s grace. However, a price for our sin must be paid. Christ’s death paid the price for believers to be forgiven and spend eternity with God in Heaven. As a righteous judge, God is consistent with all of His creation, not having special exceptions for some while others have consequences for sin. Just as God shepherds His people, we guide students in character and spiritual development, which is our major goal when disciplining a student.

BCS utilizes a color card system in its disciplinary process for violation of school and classroom expectations. Students are encouraged to display positive behavior and can receive classroom and school-wide recognition for going above and beyond basic expectations.

Community Service

Brooklake Christian School students raise funds to sponsor needy children, hold an annual canned food drive to support local food banks, and seek to serve those in need through a variety of class and school-wide service projects.
